CG 3/15/20

Good morning, Friends...

Wow! Life just got REAL these past couple of weeks! But Brian and I are so grateful for a God that is unchanging and just as constant as ever in scary times like this. We hope you are all well healthy and have access to the things your family needs to get by in the next few weeks. If there is anything at all you need, please reach out to us or anyone else in our community. This is one of purposes of community...to build relationship and be the hands and feet of Jesus not only to the world, but to each other as well. So please don't hesitate!

Have you all had a chance to check out Matt's update on social media about gatherings from here on out? He and Dakota are putting together video podcasts for our viewing on Sundays until further notice due to the ban on large gatherings. Those should be available on the Colossae App. Their heart and goal is for the church to continue to gather in small community group settings.

Brian and I plan to have community group tomorrow, but we will meet at 10AM instead of our usual 5PM. We'll have donuts and coffee ready to go, and we'll start the podcast around 10:30 AM to give everyone time to get here and get kiddos situated. We'll also have some crafty things and a movie to keep the kids occupied in the family room, so that the adults can *try* to listen in on the teaching. We'll see how that goes :)

If you are not comfortable with joining, please know, we support your decision and COMPLETELY understand. Please do what you feel is wisest for you family. No judgment, only love here! We will all be practicing standard precautions in our home, so we'll ask everyone to please take shoes off at the front door, go straight to the bathroom and wash hands WELL with soap and water and completely dry with paper towels. And again before eating. We'll also have hand sanitizer around for use whenever. Also, if you or anyone in your family has had a fever, cough, or sore throat in the last 72 hours, please stay home to help keep spread of infection down.

Man, I feel like a drill sergeant!  But I think that's just the Mama Bear in me ;) We hope to see you all tomorrow, and if not, know we'll be thinking about you! If you can make it, please feel free to bring something light to share: OJ, fresh fruit, etc... RSVP is helpful!

Community Pancake Breakfast

Hey community! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends! This Sunday is our last community group of the year, and we are doing it a little differently this time. Because Colossae doesn’t have access to the high school this week, we are scattering and meeting in our homes in lieu of the Sunday service. Our CG is one of 5 who will be hosting a pancake breakfast at 10am. So in addition to our usual group, we will most likely have more families joining us for food and fellowship.

We will be providing pancakes, syrup, bacon, and coffee and would ask all of you to pitch in to provide any other sides. Some ideas: eggs, fruit, sausage, hash browns or potatoes, OJ...

Please RSVP so that we can plan accordingly. Looking forward to seeing everyone! Here are the details again:

CG 12/1

Happy Sunday everyone!

I wanted to give everyone a heads up in advance that next week Sunday, 12/1, Brian and I will not be able to host community group as we have a banquet to attend that evening. If anyone is willing to step up and host that Sunday, definitely let us know and we can send out the normal email with all of the details. Otherwise, we will just plan on meeting back together for community group on 12/15, which will be our last community group for a few weeks until after the holidays (maybe a fun theme like ugly sweater, pj’s, and/or gingerbread house decorating???).

Please let us know if you have any questions or would like to host next Sunday! Love you friends, and have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!

- fruit

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night! I will be at a wedding tomorrow afternoon and won’t get there til closer to 6:30. But the Berg men will be holding down the fort! As always, new families and friends are welcome, so please feel free to invite! Let us know if you can make it!

CG Dinner 10/20

Hey everybody! We’ve got community group this weekend. This Sunday we thought we’d do something a little different and have a pizza and movie night! Not sure what the flick will be yet, but if anyone has any suggestions that your family really enjoys, we’d love to hear them :)

For dinner, each family can bring a pizza for their family to share. We will have 1 or 2 extras just in case we have new families joining us. Other items you could bring to share:
- drinks
- something fresh like fruit and/or veggies
- popcorn for the movie!
I will also have some fall-ish cookies too. By fall-ish I mean pumpkin shaped 😬

As always, new families and friends are welcome, so feel free to invite!

1st CG Dinner of the Season!!!!

Happy (almost) Fall Everyone!

Hi there! Hope everyone is doing well and had a good, blessed summer. And an at least semi-smooth transition back to school??? 😁 It feel like it’s been way too long since we’ve had fellowship with you all, and Brian and I are so excited to get our regular hang outs going again!

We originally were looking at getting together this Sunday for our first CG Dinner, but realized that is the date for the Community Group leader’s meeting from 5-7 that evening. So now we’re thinking we’ll go ahead and plan our first CG for Sept 29. We realize that is the 5th Sunday of the month, when we typically would have a Scatter Week, but because we don’t want to go into October before we get a chance to gather, we decided to go for it! Hope that works well for you all! We’ll stick to the 1st and 3rd Sunday’s like we did last hear.

And then Brian and I will try and get feedback from you all about how our men’s and women’s nights/groups/hang outs or whatever you wanna call it will look like. We really want to hear all of your opinions about what you would benefit from and what you’d like it to look like. So please let us know!!

As the 29th gets closer, I’ll let you all know about the meal details . In the meantime, feel free to offer up suggestions :) And for real this year I’m gonna send out a sign up sheet for the main course!

Ok that’s all for now, can’t wait to see you all over here soon!

God bless,

Anya B.
